Beefsteak
Real Food, Real Quick and Really Good
This is a Beefsteak® mantra and when it came time to open a location in Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Nvironment was ready to take a bite.
This large atrium had its challenges – working around structural columns and beams, routing the utilities and down drafting exhaust to maintain the spatial integrity of the atrium while providing a fully functional kitchen.
Beefsteak’s bright white tile and kitschy cartoon graphics provide a delicious visual reprieve from the academics of medical school. They offer a virtually limitless combination of grains, fresh-made sauces, greens, and flavorful toppings.

Highlight
Natural wood tones complement the existing wood paneling in the atrium and a window into the walk in cooler gives viewers a close up look at all of those fresh vegetables just waiting to be chopped. Flexible metal mesh screens serve as aesthetic and nighttime security.
